20 november: Regent Wind Symphony, ShuQun band and Hougang band combine concert
Venue - VCH
Time - 7.30pm or 8pm
Price - $10
If you are interested in the concert, look for Jasmine
Anyway, pls contiune to practice your parts well in DETAILS on your own at home...
I'm sure everyone's bit of effort will help the band to improve...

I'm sure everyone want to put up a good performance for Dunearnite and the Hong Kong trip so lets really PRACTICE HARD to achieve that!
TREAT EVERY BAND PRACTICE SERIOUSLY, GIVE IT ALL THAT YOU COULD!
For sections that has members that are constantly absent for band practice, lets also motivate them to come for band practice... eg . sent them a msg telling them there's band practice.. something like that...haha

Anyway, next band practice will be on 18/10/2008 ( sat), fall in at 7.30am sharp in white band tee and pe shorts...pls do come for the practice!
we cannot improve if people do not want to come for band practice...
since you have decided to join band, be committed to it!
oh, pls hand in all your consent forms by sat! (lastest), if you do not hand in on sat, punishment will be given..
those who have not pay for your CD, pls do pay up...
time is short! so pls practice your parts well at home will you are free...
exams might be over but play less computer game (etc.) , take out your score and start practicing! With everyone's effort , we will improve and be able to do more music...

I have issued out a HK consent form which will be I hope the last consent form for HK
your parents will need to sign.
I understand that some don't have the consent form
If you are one of those ppl, pls look for me tmr or as soon as possible.
Submission deadline is this THURSDAY (16 Oct 2008).
Unless you have a really good reason why you can't hand in, your name will be striked off from the HK trip.
ps. It wasn't me who posted the spam, but like gwen said, don't bother about them.

The band started with only twelve pioneer members and has grown to a membership of 120 and is one of the oldest of all the uniformed groups in Dunearn Secondary School.
The band attained a Silver Award at the 11th Australian Music Festival in June 2000.
The band also participated in competitions like the National Band Competition in 2006, which it obtained a silver award and the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF), in which it obtained three consecutive gold wards in years 2001,2003 and 2005 and obtained a silver award in year 2007.
In December 2007, the band travelled to Genting Highlands and participated in the 21st Century International Music Fesival and attained a silver award. In July 2008, the band participated in the 1st Singapore International Band Festival and attained a bronze.
Also, the band had an opportunity to perform overseas at Hong Kong in December 2008, with the Tom Lee HK Youth NeoWinds Orchestra.
In the SYF central judging 2009,the band clinched a Silver award.
The band participated in the Singapore International Band Festival 2010 and they achieved a Silver award in return for their hard work.
In the recent SYF Central Judging, 2011, the band attained a Bronze award.
