hello people =)

Welcome to the new band blog, sorry to inform u that it's still under construction but it will be up soon..

Erm anyway, u people are strongly encouraged to attend more concerts because if u dont attend concerts, u will never know how good sound sounds like, and if u do not know how good sound sounds like, how do u even produce good sound? :D so, please do go ..

Footdrills are good! Although they are really tiring :( Endure! They build our stamina and viola! During cross country, the top 20 would be obviously filled with band members.
yes, band is the best cca ever. Nothing else beats it.
Band is the only cca which you can experience real discipline and something that other ccas do not experience.

We live by passion for music and not just going for "cca".
Yes, WE ROCK.! Let's make our concert a memorable one, work hard k.

and always remember to play because u love music and not because u wanna impress, not cause u wanna play like an expert like WOAH u play very well arh! then u 'll feel happy inside. Feel happy because of the music u produce, dont feel happy because of the praises that are given to u. Because these 2 kinds of happiness are completely different things =) one is Humble happiness and one's erm.. haha u get it :D

just as models have passion for modelling,
singers have passion for singing,
kung fu masters have passion for kung fu,..

Dunearn Military Band has a long history dating back to 1966 when it was one of the first twenty school bands set up in Singapore.
The band started with only twelve pioneer members and has grown to a membership of 120 and is one of the oldest of all the uniformed groups in Dunearn Secondary School.
The band attained a Silver Award at the 11th Australian Music Festival in June 2000.

The band also participated in competitions like the National Band Competition in 2006, which it obtained a silver award and the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF), in which it obtained three consecutive gold wards in years 2001,2003 and 2005 and obtained a silver award in year 2007.

In December 2007, the band travelled to Genting Highlands and participated in the 21st Century International Music Fesival and attained a silver award. In July 2008, the band participated in the 1st Singapore International Band Festival and attained a bronze.

Also, the band had an opportunity to perform overseas at Hong Kong in December 2008, with the Tom Lee HK Youth NeoWinds Orchestra.

In the SYF central judging 2009,the band clinched a Silver award.

The band participated in the Singapore International Band Festival 2010 and they achieved a Silver award in return for their hard work.

In the recent SYF Central Judging, 2011, the band attained a Bronze award.

The Band is currently under the baton of Mr Louis Yeo.
